Melynda Cordry - Chief Instructor
Mrs. Cordry is a 5th Degree Black Belt and has been licensed by the American Tae Kwon Do Association as a Level 3 Certified Instructor and Legacy Facilitator. Prior to her martial arts training, she was named an All-American and went undefeated in Cross Country her senior year in college; later she was the first woman inducted into the Harding University Athletic Hall of Fame. In Nebraska and Iowa, she served as Assistant Children’s Minister, coordinating and running the pre-school education program. She has also taught college classes. Her vast sports and teaching experience is available to you to help you meet your personal goals. Mrs. Cordry is also a Bullying Prevention Specialist and a Certified Warrior Kickboxing Instructor and holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in the Warrior Kickboxing System. Mrs. Cordry was Tennessee State Champ in Forms, Sparring, and Weapons in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 as well as the 2011 -2013 Combat Weapons Sparring State Champ and Southeast District Champion in Combat Weapons Sparring 2013, Creative Weapons 2016, and Creative Forms 2017.
Dr. Sean Cordry - Head Instructor
Dr. Cordry is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has been licensed as a Level 3 Certified Instructor by the American Taekwondo Association. With a PhD in physics, he is also a professor at Walters State Community College. He has taught both children and adults — from three to eighty-three. His knowledge of biomechanics, gymnastics, and a life-time of martial arts study are great assets he brings to the school. Dr. Cordry was Tennessee State Champ in Weapons in 2009. He is also a Certified Oh Sung Do Instructor.
Mr. Zain Ratnani is a 2nd Degree Black Belt. Mr, Ratnani has been training at Summit ATA since the fall of 2011. Mr. Ratnani was the Tennesse State champion in Forms, Sparring, Weapons and Combat Weapons in 2016 and the 2017 Combat Weapons champion. He was also the Southeast District Champion in Traditional Weapons in 2016 and a competitor in the ATA Tournament of Champions in 2016. Mr. Ratnani is a student at Carson Newman University.
Level 2 Instructors
Mr. Mike Hance is a 1st Degree Black Belt. Mr. Hance has been training at Summit ATA since January 2014. He has been a dedicated student and has set his goal to be a certified ATA instructor. Mr. Hance enjoys helping teach in the ATA Tigers classes as well as the Karate 4 Kids classes and Adults and Teens.
Mr. Trystan Beach is a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Mr. Beach has been training at Summit ATA since late 2007. He was one of our first students! His goal is to become a fully certified ATA instructor. Mr. Beach was the 2014 TN State Champion in Sparring and Combat Weapons. Mr. Beach is a Senior at Jefferson County High School.

Miss Brianne Keller is a 1st Degree Black Belt She has been training at Summit ATA since January 2013. Miss Keller was the 2017 Tennessee State Champion in Forms, Sparring, Weapons, and Combat Weapons. Miss Keller is a student at ETSU.
